Rediscovering Tanno Lecture: "The Dogtooth Violets Population in Tanno, Kitami City, Near the Northeastern Limit of Their Distribution"

Date and Time

2024/4/28

18:00~19:30

In the former town of Hashino, surveys of dogtooth violets have been conducted since 1990, and in 2005, they were designated a cultural asset of Kitami City. Although the dogtooth violets in Hashino bloom quietly and unnoticed, they have been found to have acquired unique characteristics not found in populations in other regions. A professor from Hirosaki University, who has cooperated with the survey for many years, will give a lecture on the changes since the survey began and conservation measures based on population simulations.

[Lecturer] Yukio Ishikawa (Professor Emeritus, Hirosaki University)
[Capacity] 20 people (will close once capacity is reached)
