The Jomon City Liaison Council was established to network cities with Jomon sites throughout Japan and to promote the appeal, depth, and historical significance of the Jomon throughout the country.

The Jomon City Summit was organized by this Jomon City Liaison Council to explore ways to utilize the appeal of Jomon culture in city planning through collaboration. 1998 began with Aomori City in Aomori Prefecture, and has been held annually since then, changing locations and themes.

And now, on Monday, October 7 this year, it will be held in Toyako Town for the first time in 15 years!
