The Hiroo Santaland Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 26 to celebrate the 40th anniversary!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Hiroo Santaland, the first Santaland outside of Japan to be certified by the City of Oslo, Norway, the hometown of Santa Claus. Since 1984, when the city of Oslo, Norway, the hometown of Santa Claus, certified Hiroo Santaland as the first Santaland outside of Japan, this annual event has been held in the spirit of "love, peace, gratitude and service".

Food and beverage sales, free hot drinks, a mini-concert by the Hiroo Santaland Jazz School, a concert by the ensemble group "Sora," and other events are held to attract visitors.

When the light switch is pressed, all the trees and facilities in the Forest Park will be illuminated at once, creating a fantastic light and Christmas mood in the park. At the end of the ceremony, fireworks will be shot off, creating a large bloom in the clear late autumn sky.
