The Coal Mine (Yama) Lantern Festival, an annual autumn event at the Akahira Coal Mine Heritage Guidance Facility, will be held again this year.
This year's event will be held a little earlier, on Saturday, October 5.
The first 80 people to register in advance will win a "lantern" with an orange LED light that floats in the sky with helium gas. Even if you don't win a lantern, you can still enjoy the great atmosphere of the day with the lighting up of the shaft turret and live music.
