TeamLab will exhibit "Infinite Life Proliferating on the Ruins of a Church" at the J Art Foundation (formerly the Sapporo Miyanomori Art Museum), an art museum opening in Miyanomori, Sapporo, Hokkaido. "Flowers change with the seasons, following the same flow of time as the real world. Flowers change with the seasons, repeating the cycle of birth and death, proliferation and decay. When people touch the flowers, they fall over and die."
The world of the artwork is flattened in accordance with teamLab's concept of "ultrasubjective space," so unlike flattening achieved with a lens or perspective, the viewer's viewpoint is not fixed and the body is free and dynamic. The wall on which the world of the artwork is projected does not become the boundary between the people and the artwork, but the flowers blur the boundary between the wall, and the world of the artwork becomes continuous with the space where people's bodies are.
