"Takashi Murakami" Contemporary Art Special
Date and Time
2025/5/7~18
This exhibition will feature print works by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. Takashi Murakami is a leading figure in the "Superflat" theory, which connects popular culture such as modern manga and anime with the flatness of traditional Japanese art, and is still active at the forefront of the world today. His seemingly pop works contain highly Japanese elements, such as connections to otaku culture and Western culture, as well as a break with Western supremacy.
They have released products in collaboration with various companies, such as the design of Roppongi Hills' mascot "Rokuroku Alien," Louis Vuitton and Nike, and recently announced a collaboration with the idol group NewJeans, making them more and more popular with the public.
