The "1st Hokkaido Bountiful Sea Creation Conference" will be held as the first step to protect, nurture and pass on the bounty of Hokkaido's ocean to the next generation. The theme is "Protecting a shining, bountiful sea." There will be a lot of events that both children and adults can enjoy, such as a herring release experience (applications closed), exhibitions and sales related to the ocean and the environment, and even a rare opportunity to see a patrol boat! At the Wing Bay Otaru venue, there will also be a "Sea Creation Conference Quiz" where you can win prizes by lottery.

We will continuously release herring seedlings into the Sea of Japan, and release herring fry, the catch of which has increased in recent years.

- There will be lots of fun events, such as sales of agricultural, forestry and marine products, making original goods using shells and wood, and a touch pool with sea creatures!

■Events (public opening of government ships)
The Fisheries Agency and the Japan Coast Guard will open their government vessels to the public. No reservations are required and participation is free!
