Overview

The Hakodate Port Festival will be held to commemorate the 166th anniversary of the port's opening. In the "Wasshoi Hakodate" parade, which involves local citizens, the spectators are so excited that they start dancing along with the locals as they parade around in their own costumes, performing the famous "Hakodate Squid Dance" and "Hakodate Port Dance."

In addition, on the first day, a five-part program (planned) will feature a variety of fireworks, including wide star mines, impressive shakudama fireworks, trick fireworks, and underwater fireworks, set to music, coloring the first day of the Hakodate Port Festival. In addition, outdoor stalls are also scheduled to be set up.
