The Naganuma Town Ekiden Race, which originated from the Naganuma-Mizusawa Friendship Relay Marathon held in September 1987 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Naganuma Town and its sister city, Mizusawa City (now Oshu City), is now celebrating its 38th anniversary this year. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many runners who have gathered from inside and outside the town to date and run through the naturally rich land of Naganuma.

We will be holding a relay race again this year, so we hope that all teams will compete to see who is the strongest. We also welcome teams who want to test their strength with their friends and run while experiencing the countryside to the fullest.

■Eligibility: Teams must be made up of high school students or older.
■ Course: Depart from Naganuma Sports Center and arrive at Naganuma Onsen
