The Coal, Iron and Steel Port Art Project 2025 will be held at the former Sumitomo Akabira Coal Mine shaft tower and surrounding facilities in Akabira City to widely communicate the history of the Japan Heritage Coal, Iron and Steel Port, which contributed to the modernization of Hokkaido, and the role that the coal-producing region has played through art exhibitions at the coal mining heritage site, and to create an opportunity to think about the future of the region.
