The space business is entering a new stage.
Japan's rocket development, which began with the first flight of the Pencil Rocket, has been led by the government until now, but in recent years, a variety of players, including industry and universities, have entered the field, ushering in a private-sector-led "rocket business era."

Hokkaido University of Science will be hosting a special lecture entitled "Aiming for a society where anyone can be active in space" with Professor Yasuhiro Morita, Professor Emeritus of the JAXA Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, President and CEO of Rocket Link Technology Co., Ltd., Chairman of the Japanese Rocket Society, and Visiting Professor at our university.

The lecture will provide a clear explanation of the core technology of solid-fuel rockets, the current cutting edge of the rocket business, and the importance of industry-academia and interdisciplinary collaboration in the space field.
