Overview

Hiroo Town is the only Santaland in Japan, and the first overseas to be recognized by Norway, Santa Claus' homeland, in 1984. The Santaland Tree Lighting Ceremony is held every year on the fourth Saturday of October. From this day onwards, the town of Hiroo is illuminated all at once, creating a Christmas atmosphere.
The symbolic zone of Omaruyama Forest Park will also be bathed in the light of approximately 150,000 lights.
