Ikuemi Ryo is a manga artist who has been based in Sapporo for over 40 years.
The work features many scenes of Sapporo and Hokkaido dialect, and even expresses the atmosphere of the era.
The emotions of the characters, who seem like they could be found in everyday life, are expressed in detail, making the work even more realistic and inspiring readers across the country to admire the city of Sapporo.
This exhibition will focus on works set in Sapporo from among the many stories she has published to date, and will feature over 100 beautiful and delicate original drawings, including her most famous works, as well as materials that offer a glimpse into the creative process. Come see the trajectory of Ikuemi Aya's work, who debuted in her teens and has always remained at the forefront of the industry, in her hometown of Sapporo.
