Asahikawa, the holy land of furniture. Set in this land where materials, design, and manufacturing are concentrated, we will be holding the Asahikawa furniture production area exhibition, Meet up Furniture Asahikawa, again this year. The event period has been moved from the previous June to May. We will open the production area at the beginning of early summer, when the fresh greenery is dazzling and the air is pleasant. The year 2026 is the year when applications open for IFDA2027 (International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa). We will welcome new jury members Mr. Jin Kuramoto, Tsuyoshi Tane, Mr. Ronan Bouroullec, and Ms. Cecilie Manz to Asahikawa, and hold an event that looks to the future of wooden furniture.

Furthermore, a communication space that embodies the concept of "Meeting in the production area" will be available all day during the event period at the main venue, the Asahikawa Design Center. According to the time of day, we will prepare coffee, alcohol, and light meals, creating a place where new encounters and exchanges can be born, transcending positions and fields. And, through exhibitions and showcases unique to the production area, such as each company's open factory and new product announcements, you can have experiences that can only be gained on-site.
