Abe Tenei Original Illustration Exhibition ~The Colors and Lines that Tell a Story~
Date and Time
2026/3/7~6/14
Hokkaido's representative contemporary artist, Abe Tenei, is known for his diverse activities including sculpture, three-dimensional works, and installations, and has contributed to the development of artistic expression in Hokkaido for many years. On the other hand, he has also worked on illustrations for serialized newspaper novels and original cover art for periodicals, building a unique world filled with poetic sentiment and humor.
This exhibition will display a representative collection of Abe Tenei's original cover art and illustrations, which have rarely been introduced in exhibitions until now. In addition to the charm of original illustrations, which is different from his three-dimensional works, this exhibition will inform visitors about his connection with literature and the artist's position within social and historical contexts, introducing the diversity and breadth of expression of contemporary artist Abe Tenei.
