It's happening again this year! Akapla Picnic Cinema!

In May, when it's still a bit chilly, we will hold a screening to kick off Hokkaido's outdoor cinema season at Akapla (Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza)!

This year, it's powered up to a two-day event on 5/15 (Fri) and 16 (Sat).
Furthermore, the 'Hitohako Furuhon-ichi' (One-Box Secondhand Book Market) and food trucks will also be there, so you can enjoy it as a market event for books and movies 📚

The featured films are two masterpieces of carefully selected 'bear movies'.
'Brigsby Bear' & 'Paddington' will be presented.

You can bring your own food and drinks, and there will also be kitchen cars! (*Only on the 16th (Sat))

Why not spread out a picnic blanket and enjoy an early picnic mood?🌿

[What is Akapla Picnic Cinema?]
A 200-inch screen will appear at Akapla. It will become a two-day-only outdoor movie theater. You are free to bring your own drinks and food. You can also enjoy take-out from the kitchen cars or nearby restaurants. Please bring picnic blankets or outdoor chairs and enjoy the screening like a picnic. There is also a fluffy artificial turf area. Warm clothing is recommended!

[What is Hitohako Furuhon-ichi?]
A small book market where people bring and sell about one cardboard box full of books. In addition to the secondhand books selected by each vendor, you'll find heartfelt ZINEs, and the charm is in discovering an unexpected book. Encounter books, encounter people. We will deliver a day to enjoy such serendipity.

'Brigsby Bear'

A comedy-drama about the turmoil that ensues when a 25-year-old man, who was kidnapped as a baby and raised by his fake parents watching only the educational program 'Brigsby Bear' that they produced, goes out into the outside world for the first time. The protagonist's foster father is played by Mark Hamill of the 'Star Wars' series.
