The 67th Akkeshi Ayame Matsuri

Date and Time

2026/6/20~28

12km from the urban area of Akkeshi Town, after passing through a forest of dakekanba, which can be described as primitive dancing trees, a grassland exuding a noble fragrance spreads out before you. Ayamegahara, which juts out into the Pacific Ocean and is known as Chinbe-no-hana, is a vast primeval flower garden of 100 hectares. At Ayamegahara, over 100 types of flowers bloom one after another between May and October, allowing you to enjoy various kinds of flowers each season. As the name Ayamegahara suggests, from mid to late June, about 300,000 stalks of Hiougiayame bloom, dyeing the entire area in the purple of the Hiougiayame.

Ayamegahara is a scenic spot on the North Pacific Seaside Line, the "Cape and Flower Fog Road," located at an altitude of about 100 meters. As the vicinity is a sheer cliff, it is a scenic spot offering a panoramic view of the Pacific coastline.
