This is an event that conveys the history of Goryokaku, the stage for the final battle of the Boshin War around the time of the Meiji Restoration. At the Hizen-sai (Memorial Ceremony), a procession dressed in the costumes of the new government forces and the former shogunate forces of the time will tour and offer flowers at the Monument to the Last Stand of Nakajima Saburosuke and His Son (Nakajima-cho), the Hekketsu-hi Monument (Yachigashira-cho), the Monument to the Last Stand of Hijikata Toshizo (Wakamatsu-cho), and the Memorial Tower for the Hakodate War (next to Goryokaku Tower).

On the special stage at Goryokaku Park, the 'Hijikata Toshizo Contest National Tournament,' which had its final run in 2024, will be revived in response to everyone's passionate requests. Additionally, this year, the 'Chibikko Hijikata Selection' will also be held. On the second day, there will be a two-person play by 'Shibahama Shachu' coming from Uraga to Hakodate, a Shinken Battoujutsu (real sword drawing) demonstration by Hino Chibai Juku, and on-stage performances by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force band and the Hakodate District Symphonic Band Federation.

In addition, the large floats that were part of the Goryokaku Festival Ishin Parade until 2024, the Shogunate Navy's flagship 'Kaiyomaru' and the black ship 'Powhatan,' will be on display and available for photos as a 'photo spot'.
