Miyajimanuma Waterfowl and Wetland Center 'Invasive Species Removal Activity & Spring Plant Mini-Observation Session'

Date and Time

2026/5/9

10:00-12:00 *Canceled in case of rain

The specified invasive alien species Oohangonsou, a yellow flower that is resistant to cold and wetlands, has vigorous growth and reproductive capabilities, and has now spread throughout the country. Although it has been over 20 years since Miyajimanuma was registered under the Ramsar Convention, unfortunately, Oohangonsou has become overgrown in the surrounding areas, including within the premises. Since 2021, as part of Miyajimanuma's environmental conservation activities, we have been removing Oohangonsou within the observation area. We will give an easy-to-understand lecture on how to distinguish it from other plants, so even first-timers can do it easily.

■Target Audience: Anyone (Children under the 3rd grade of elementary school must be accompanied by a guardian)

■What to Bring/Wear]: Comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (long sleeves, long pants, rubber boots, etc.), work gloves, a hat, drinks (there are no vending machines at the center), a towel for sweat, and (if you have them) tools such as a shovel or a digging tool.
