Overview

Yunokawa Onsen, known and loved as one of Hokkaido's three major onsen villages. This is the Yunokawa Onsen fireworks festival, held annually in mid-August. The fireworks are launched from near the lower reaches of the Matsukura River, coloring the night sky along with the fishing lights of squid fishing boats floating off the coast of the Tsugaru Strait. The fireworks can be viewed from locations such as near the mouth of the Matsukura River and the beach viewing seats near the Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden.
