Tetsuya Kashio

Attorney at law from Obihiro City, Hokkaido. While working as a lawyer in Tokyo, he started a joint project in 2013 with friends from his hometown in Tokachi region of Hokkaido. In just 3 years, he has created a short film (“My little guidebook”), a renovated hotel (“HOTEL NUPKA”), and a craft beer (“Beer at the beginning of the journey”) all at once, gaining attention. In 2019, he launched a horse-drawn carriage BAR tour through the streets of Obihiro at night; in 2020, he received the Furusato Enterprise Award (Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award); in 2021, his workcation promotion project utilizing the new NUPKA Hanare building was adopted by the Cabinet Office as a demonstration experiment for the population related to local development; in 2022, he announced his “Obihiro In 2022, the company announced its “Eating and Walking Town” concept, proposing the future of the central city of Obihiro.
