Umemura Garden and Baiun-tei are a park and resting facility available for anyone to use. Umemura Garden has been designated as a Yakumo Town Designated Cultural Property, and Yakumo Town received it by transfer and developed it due to the generosity of the Umemura family, and it is being used by many people, for which we are grateful. Inside the garden, there are Baiun-tei, which is a resting facility, and a detached building and a storehouse of the former Umemura residence.

The garden is a pond-stroll garden, and the pond located in the center is filled with spring water and never dries up throughout the year. Around the pond, artificial hills, dry landscape gardens, and so on are skillfully arranged. Also, lanterns made of concrete, which were rare at the time they were built, are also arranged.

Inside the garden, various azaleas, starting with Purple Azalea, Renge Azalea, Yama Azalea, Satsuki Azalea, Kurume Azalea, Ryukyu Azalea, Dodan Azalea, Yodogawa Azalea, etc., as well as trees such as Japanese Yew (Onko), Ezo Mountain Cherry, Somei Yoshino Cherry, Japanese Red Pine, Japanese Maple, Japanese Umbrella Pine, etc., and flowering plants such as Violet, Oxalis, Rhododendron, Asarum, and Narcissus, etc. are planted, and you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons.
