A long time ago, a monk was on a journey and asked for lodging from one of the wealthiest people in the old Toya Village,
One day, about a month later, the monk asked his master if he would take good care of a statue of Prince Shotoku that he carried with him.
He gave the statue of Prince Shotoku to his master, saying, "If you take good care of it, this land will surely flourish and become a prosperous village.
The master was very pleased and promised to enshrine the statue with great care. The master was very happy and promised to enshrine the statue.
This statue is the principal image of Prince Shotoku enshrined in Ukimido.
