"Wanna Go to Hokkaido After Work?" This Spontaneous Couple's Conversation is Going Viral
Is it the name of a restaurant, or do they mean the actual Hokkaido? A LINE conversation after work between a certain couple living in the Kanto region has become a hot topic on social media.

A proposal made as casually as going to a convenience store! However, the replies included messages like these.
"There's a sushi restaurant named Hokkaido in Tottori Prefecture."
"Maybe they mean the izakaya in Tokyo?"
It seems there are several restaurants outside of Hokkaido that are simply named 'Hokkaido.' Was the husband suggesting a nearby spot called 'Hokkaido,' or was he really planning a trip to the northern island? We asked the original poster, Haru, for the real story.
The Real Hokkaido or a Restaurant Name? We Asked the Poster Herself
What did "Wanna go to Hokkaido?" really mean?
We didn't know about any sushi places or izakayas called Hokkaido! My husband was apparently talking about the real Hokkaido.
His thought process was apparently: What should we have for dinner? → I want to eat seafood. → I want to eat sea urchin. → I want to go to Hokkaido!
Wow, it was a genuine invitation to the great northern land of Hokkaido. It seems the culinary temptations of Hokkaido can even cross the sea....
How did you, Haru, reply to this message?
To sum it up briefly,
Me: "I want to eat the ramen we have at home!"Husband: "This hotel has all-you-can-eat sea urchin! (with a photo)"
Me: "That looks delicious T_T I just got off work."
Husband: "Good job! I'll come pick you up at the station!"
Me: "Thank you 😭"
Husband: "Let's have ramen tonight!"
That evening, we had ramen at home 🍜
What a heartwarming exchange that shows how close they are. However, it seems the husband's wish to "eat sea urchin in Hokkaido!" couldn't be granted this time.
Have you two ever been to Hokkaido?
Yes! We went for the first time last year!! My husband must have enjoyed that trip so much that it led to this comment 😂
It seems the memories of their Hokkaido trip further stimulated his craving for seafood! We can only hope they get to visit Hokkaido together again soon.
