The photo shows a road that seems to stretch on forever. Beyond it, a vast blue sky and summer clouds. It's a classic scene of "Tokachi-bare"—the clear, sunny weather characteristic of the region—and the sheer expanse of the sky is palpable even in the picture. When this photo was shared on X, it drew admiring comments like, "The sky is so vast!" "The summer sky is so fluffy," and "I love summer clouds!"

The photographer, Meg, was visiting her hometown of Toyokoro, Hokkaido, and was once again struck by the vastness of the sky. She captured this moment, a perfect example of "Tokachi-bare." During her trip, Meg also took other beautiful photos of the Tokachi scenery.

When we asked Meg about her feelings on Hokkaido's Tokachi region, she shared, "The vast sky and land, the beautiful natural scenery—there was a sense of wonder I only noticed as an adult. I found myself enthusiastically taking pictures of my hometown, Tokachi, in the summer."
