Road signs are something we see without much thought. Among them, the "Beware of Animals" sign (officially, there is a risk of animals jumping out) varies in design depending on the region. In one town in Hokkaido, a unique sign became the talk of the town.

Left: Normal "Animals May Jump Out" sign
Right: "Deer may jump out" sign

This is a sign that deer jump out too much and is really dangerous. Many of these signs have been installed in Akan Town, Kushiro City on Route 240.

Quote from @yokkiren's post

Reproduced from "A large herd of deer jump out all over the place"

The design of this sign makes you look twice, as four deer jump out. The first sign, warning of animals, is a common sight along the road, but this sign with four deer in a group seems to convey the sense of danger of a "herd of deer running out of control.

The post was met with both surprise and sympathy, with comments such as "You are right," "They come in herds," and "It's not enough to say there are no deer.

There are more than just deer! Rare animal warning signs unique to the region

There are other impressive animal warning signs in Hokkaido. 動物注意

This sign depicts a red fox and a green raccoon dog! This sign, reminiscent of a certain cup noodle, can be seen near the Takikawa Interchange on the uphill side of the "Hokkaido Expressway.

There seem to be many other designs unique to Hokkaido, which is full of nature. When driving, you may enjoy finding signs you have never seen before!
