Each Dormy Inn hotel has a different local parakeet mascot, and the one for "Dormy Inn Abashiri" is... incarcerated.

Dormy Inko, the Promotional Manager of Dormy Inn
Dormy Inko
"Dormy Inko" is the promotional manager for Dormy Inn, a fairy born from "customer's feelings" and the "spirit of hospitality." The 'd' mark on its necktie represents Dormy Inn. The "Local Dormy Inko" mascots found across the country are said to be its family members, each transformed to represent local specialties and characteristics.
It has even appeared in the Yuru-Chara® Grand Prix
The "Prison Inko" from "Dormy Inn Abashiri," which recently went viral on social media, is from a hotel that opened in 2016, just a 2-minute walk from the Abashiri Bus Terminal. Since Abashiri is famous for the "Abashiri Prison Museum," the mascot is depicted as being imprisoned. Comments on social media included, "I had no idea," "I seriously love Dormy Inko," and "What is this, it's so cute."

In fact, there are currently (*) 83 "Local Dormy Inko" mascots across Japan. They can be found from Wakkanai in Hokkaido in the north, to Kagoshima in Kyushu in the south, and even overseas in South Korea.
