Starting October 1st, Domingo is thrilled to welcome the popular Hokkaido-based band HAMBURGER BOYS as our official ambassadors.

This collaboration came to be as Domingo and HAMBURGER BOYS share a common passion: to energize the municipalities of Hokkaido!

In this article, we sit down with the band to discuss their thoughts on becoming Domingo's official ambassadors.

The Domingo Official Ambassador Interview Begins!

To the members of HAMBURGER BOYS, thank you so much for becoming Domingo's ambassadors today!

This partnership was born from our shared desire to liven up Hokkaido, and we're so excited to have you on board...

We're truly happy that HAMBURGER BOYS can be the ambassadors for Domingo, an app where you can easily get information on all 179 municipalities in Hokkaido!
We've been appointed by the Hokkaido Tourism Organization as the Hokkaido Tourism Support Team, so when this opportunity came up, we thought, "This is a perfect match! This is it!"

HAMBURGER BOYS energizes municipalities through our songs, but we also want to help by sharing information about the regions, not just through music.
There haven't been many ways to easily get new, pinpointed information on a specific town you're interested in right on your smartphone like you can with Domingo, so I've been using it quite a bit myself. I follow my favorite towns to see what's new, and I also use it when I think, "Maybe I'll venture a little further out to that town next time."
It's incredibly convenient because you can directly see information on outings from the local government offices of each municipality, which is hard to find on other media! I'm thrilled to be an ambassador for such a great app, and I plan to use it to the fullest and work hard to get many more people to use it too!

Wow, the passion is incredible! I think he's already said 120% of what needed to be said...

My favorite thing about Domingo is that it's simple, stylish, and easy to use!
When you first launch the app and go to the screen to follow a town, you can navigate it so stylishly with its chic illustrations.
It's something we can proudly promote as ambassadors, so we're very happy!

I have a family, so we often go for drives on the weekends, and I frequently use the app for information on places to eat.
It's packed with useful information for everyday life, which is really convenient. I'm eager to work on getting as many people as possible to use it!

I believe Hokkaido is number one.

I want to create a Hokkaido where people from each of the 179 municipalities can confidently and proudly say, "This is our town! Please come visit!" I want to combine all 179 of those voices and shout out to the whole country, "Hokkaido has so many wonderful towns, please come and see for yourselves!" I know it's difficult for people to visit now due to the pandemic, but...

Anyway, when someone asks where you're from or where you live, instead of hesitantly saying, "It's a town near that famous city," I want to create opportunities through our music for people to proudly say, "I'm from XX town! It's a great place with so much to offer!"

To give you an example, if I had to describe the charm of my hometown, Fujino in Minami-ku, Sapporo, in one phrase, it would be "a resort area." Just a 10-minute drive away, you have hot springs like Jozankei Onsen and Koganeyu, ski resorts, and the Toyohira River. It's packed with all kinds of activities! I'm very proud of Fujino!

I wasn't much of a traveler originally, but since starting HAMBURGER BOYS, I've come to learn the finer details about different towns.

During our songwriting process, Yamada-kun does a ton of research about the towns, and I often learn about them from him.
When my family wants to go somewhere, I'll often remember things like, "Oh, there's a hot spring there!" or "I want to go here!" and use that to plan our destination.

Every town has interesting things, fun places, and delicious food. I love that about Hokkaido!
But I think many people, even those living in Hokkaido, don't know the little details about each town.
So, I want to make Hokkaido a place where more people know about the wonderful things that exist in each and every town.

You know how in rankings for favorite places to visit, Okinawa and Hokkaido are always competing for first and second place? I want Hokkaido to win by a long shot! Of course, I understand that for people who don't like winter or the cold, Okinawa has an advantage, but still! I want people to say, "No, I want to go to Hokkaido!"

When I go to Tokyo from Hokkaido, I want people to be overwhelmingly envious, saying things like, "Wow! What's Hokkaido like?" I want to make it an even more desirable place!

To achieve that, we want to spread information about Hokkaido! I believe that as more information gets out through Domingo, and people come to appreciate Hokkaido and its municipalities even more, its appeal will grow. That's the kind of future I want to help create!

Thank you!
