Cheers at the Food Stalls! The Susukino Area Becomes a Pedestrian Paradise
During the Susukino Festival, the area from South 4 to South 7 Jo becomes a pedestrian-only zone. Around 100 food and drink booths will line the streets, with stalls selling yakitori, oden, yakisoba, and more. The "Oiran Dochu" Courtesan Procession Adds Glamour to the Susukino Night
On the first day, August 7th (Thu) from 20:00, the festival's signature "Oiran Dochu" (Courtesan Procession) will take place. Gorgeously dressed oiran will slowly parade down the streets from South 5 to South 7 Jo. Their elegant and glamorous appearance captivates countless spectators every year. For 2025, two publicly selected oiran are scheduled to appear. The unique Japanese beauty of the Susukino Festival is truly a sight to behold.
The "Mikoshi Togyo" Parade Featuring One of Hokkaido's Largest Kyoto-Style Shrines
On August 8th (Fri) and 9th (Sat), another festival highlight, the "Mikoshi Togyo" (Portable Shrine Parade), will be held. The Konkon Mikoshi, a Kyoto-style shrine requiring nearly 100 bearers, along with the Onna Mikoshi (women's shrine) and Manto Mikoshi (lantern shrine), will be paraded through the streets with energetic chants. The entire Susukino district becomes united in the festive spirit.
Energetic Stage Performances Featuring YOSAKOI Teams!
On the special stage at the Susukino Festival, performances such as YOSAKOI Soran dances and shows by local teams will be held, creating an exciting atmosphere of unity with the audience.
The Grand Finale: A "Susukino Night Fever"!
The festival concludes with the "Susukino Night Fever" on August 9th (Sat) from 21:30. Classic disco sounds and DJ sets will electrify the venue, offering a delightful dose of nostalgia for the older generation. You can dance the summer night away in Sapporo to nostalgic music.
