On the first day, August 7th (Thu) from 20:00, the festival's signature "Oiran Dochu" (Courtesan Procession) will take place. Gorgeously dressed oiran will slowly parade down the streets from South 5 to South 7 Jo. Their elegant and glamorous appearance captivates countless spectators every year. On August 8th (Fri) and 9th (Sat), another festival highlight, the "Mikoshi Togyo" (Portable Shrine Parade), will be held. The Konkon Mikoshi, a Kyoto-style shrine requiring nearly 100 bearers, along with the Onna Mikoshi (women's shrine) and Manto Mikoshi (lantern shrine), will be paraded through the streets with energetic chants.
