Savor 20 Kinds of Handmade Donuts at Obihiro's Mokumokudo, Supervised by a Famous Sapporo Shop

Opened in Obihiro in June 2021, Mokumokudo is a donut shop supervised by Fuwa Mochi Tei, a popular bagel and donut shop in Sapporo. Their fluffy and chewy handmade donuts, made with Hokkaido wheat and ingredients from the Tokachi region, are a huge hit. The owner, who was originally a fan of Fuwa Mochi Tei, opened the shop after being provided with their recipes.

A wide variety of about 20 types of donuts are always available!

The shop's logo was created by the same designer as Fuwa Mochi Tei. The flour is also sourced from Fuwa Mochi Tei.

Mokumokudo offers about 20 different kinds of donuts at all times, with a wide variety of both Japanese and Western flavors like "Cream Cheese," "Kinako" (roasted soybean flour), and "Purin Daifuku" (pudding-filled mochi). The "Goma Anko" (sesame and red bean paste) for 260 yen is a customer favorite that always sells out quickly. The manager's recommendation is the simple "Miruku" (milk) for 190 yen, made with just brown sugar.

The "Kinako" has a slightly salty taste, creating a perfect sweet and savory balance.

Additionally, the "Jersey Milk Brûlée" and "Strawberry Cheesecake" are rare donuts sold only from around noon on weekends! The shop opens at 10:00 AM and often sells out by 3:00 PM, so it's best to visit early. You can check their Instagram Stories for opening times and information on what's sold out, which is a good idea before you go.

Next to a laundromat!? Perfect for takeout or dining in.

Mokumokudo

There is a laundromat next door, and you can move freely between them.

Mokumokudo is actually located right next to a laundromat. You can move freely between the donut shop and the laundromat, and there is a cafe space inside the laundromat. This means you can not only get your donuts to go but also eat them on-site. It's perfect for various situations, whether you're using it as a cafe while waiting for your laundry, just stopping by for a coffee, or grabbing some takeout.

A kids' space is also available.

Enjoy Tokachi's own "Cassiopeia Coffee" too.

Takeout "Iced Caffè Latte" for 500 yen.

Mokumokudo serves "Cassiopeia Coffee," which uses beans from the Cassiopeia coffee shop in Otofuke, Tokachi. Coffee and lattes are the perfect accompaniment to the donuts. You can also purchase their original "Mokumokudo Blend" coffee beans. They have a soft-serve ice cream machine, so you might even be able to enjoy treats like affogato in the summer...!

Mokumokudo

The "Gift Box," perfect for souvenirs, costs 20 yen for a 5-donut box.

They also have a charmingly designed gift box, making it perfect for souvenirs. Be sure to stop by for a special treat for yourself or a gift for someone else.
