Rausu, a town on the Shiretoko Peninsula in eastern Hokkaido, is a place where you can witness rich nature and rare wildlife. A single photograph that seems to symbolize Rausu has been gaining major attention, with many calling it "awesome!"
I feel like I managed to take a very Rausu-like photo.

A Steller's sea eagle delivers a kick to the back of a younger bird. Another eagle is hidden in the background, and it appears the three are fighting over a fish. This dynamic shot has drawn comments like, "Literally a flying kick," "What a cool three-way battle!" and "I want to know what happens next."
Looking closer at the photo, you can also see people on a boat in the background, photographing something. It makes you wonder what they were trying to capture.
Unique Wildlife Encounters in Rausu
This photo was taken by nature tour guide Jun MATSUI. His camera also captured other precious moments, including the ensuing struggle for the fish and the beautiful sight of a white-tailed eagle spreading its wings.
