The quintessential Munich Christmas Market drink: Apple Glühwein
"Apple Glühwein" 800 yen
For many, a trip to the Munich Christmas Market starts with Glühwein (mulled wine). There are many stalls selling it throughout the venue. This time, we tried one from "Montagne x Asomubrosso!" It contains sliced apple and cinnamon for a rich flavor. As you drink, you can feel a gentle warmth spreading through your body. We opted for the returnable cup, but you can also choose to have it in an original Munich Christmas Market mug (1,900 yen).
2025 Munich Christmas Market Limited Edition "Original Design Mug" 1,500 yen
If you want to buy the original mug by itself, head to the official merchandise shop at the venue. They also have items like pin badges, coasters, and washi tape.
Packed with the flavor of seafood and vegetables: Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl
"Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl" 1,200 yen
This clam chowder, filled with hearty, chunky ingredients, is a visually warming and comforting dish that will make you feel right at home.
Soak the bread in the savory soup. Don't forget to ask for a knife to cut the bread!
The creamy soup is a delicious warmth that seeps into your cold body. After the sweetness of carrots and onions, you can really taste the rich flavor of the clams. With the bread serving as a bowl, it's also very filling. A minestrone version in a bread bowl is also available.
A classic German street food: Currywurst
"Currywurst (6 sausages)" 1,100 yen
Currywurst is a classic German street food. Savory grilled sausages are generously topped with ketchup and curry powder. We enjoyed it with a hot apple wine.
The generous amount of ketchup and curry powder creates an indulgent, delicious flavor.
It also comes with a heaping side of french fries, making it a substantial meal. It pairs well with both Glühwein and beer. If you want to share with a group, a large size with 10 sausages is available for 1,600 yen.
Perfect for sharing with tartar sauce: Fish & Chips
"Fish & Chips" 1,000 yen
We bought these fish & chips from the booth of "Farmer's Chicken Sapporo Yamahana Store," located near the Nishi-sen 14-jo stop on the Sapporo streetcar line. While the shop is famous for its delicious hot chicken, like rotisserie chicken, their fish & chips are also excellent. Crispy white fish fillets are served with plenty of french fries and tartar sauce. With four bite-sized pieces of fish, it's perfect for sharing with multiple people.
Rich flavor from German fermented butter: Maple Syrup & Fermented Butter Pretzel
"Maple Syrup & Fermented Butter Pretzel" 750 yen
"Pretzel King" is a popular pretzel shop offering a wide variety of flavors. Each pretzel is finished to order, so you can enjoy it warm.
The inside is surprisingly soft and fluffy.
This savory pretzel, rich with the flavor of German fermented butter, is crispy on the outside but unexpectedly soft and moist on the inside. The gentle saltiness is beautifully complemented by the mellow sweetness of maple syrup, while the crunchy cinnamon sugar adds a delightful textural accent.
For your sweet tooth: Hot Chocolate Orange & Xmas Churros
"Hot Chocolate Orange" 700 yen, "Xmas Churros" 650 yen
When you're craving a sweet, warm drink, hot chocolate is a wonderful choice. They offer two flavors: orange and pistachio. Pairing it with the Xmas Churros makes it feel like an extra special treat.
These festive churros are as dazzling as a Christmas tree.
Adorned with a generous amount of whipped cream, the churros have the festive look of a Christmas cake. It's an assortment of three types of bite-sized, cream-filled churros, making it easy to share with friends.
[Bonus] Perfect for souvenirs: Roasted Almonds & Original Christmas Market Sweets and Coffee
Besides the delicious food to enjoy at the venue, there are also items available for takeout. They're perfect for enjoying Christmas at home or as a small gift for someone.
"Roasted Almonds XL size" 4,500 yen
The roasted almonds, a specialty of the Munich Christmas Market, are back again this year. A sweet aroma wafts through the area, drawing in crowds of people. There are four flavors available: cinnamon, cherry, vanilla, and cacao. The paper bags come in S (1,200 yen) and M (1,700 yen) with one flavor. The cups come in L (3,350 yen), XL (4,500 yen), and XXL (6,450 yen), and you can choose either a single flavor or a mix of all four.
"Boules de Neige" 360 yen, "Can't-Wait Stollen" 200 yen, "Munich Christmas Market in Sapporo Original Blend" 280 yen
The "Sapporo Sweets and Coffee Shop," which features products from about 30 confectioneries and coffee shops in Sapporo, is the perfect place to pick up small gifts and snacks. We bought exclusive Munich Christmas Market limited-edition items from popular shops like "COFFEE BEANS & COOKING Co lab," "Nichiyobi no Cookie," and "CAPSULE MONSTER."
Over 10 coffee shops participate on a rotating basis, so in addition to buying drip bags, you can also enjoy a freshly brewed cup on the spot.
