Naganuma Town's major event, the Naganuma Maoi Dream Festival, is being held again this year!
"Yamase," a competition held in the past in which participants race across a single-plank bridge against a headwind, has been revamped and is back as the main event. The winner will receive 100,000 yen in cash! There will also be a variety of other fantastic prizes, such as the "Zukeen Cup" (a speed-eating contest of shaved ice, children's division only) and "Collect! Stamp Bingo!", where participants can collect stamps to get a bingo card.
Furthermore, as with last year, there will be a booth set up where you can enjoy Naganuma Town's specialty, Jingisukan. Meat from four restaurants in the town will be available, so why not try discovering your favorite Jingisukan?
There will also be an exhibition of Self-Defense Force vehicles that are popular with children, as well as a children's festival! There will also be events that even small children can enjoy, such as Mölkky and super ball scooping.
Other events include stage performances by the Naganuma Centennial Taiko Preservation Society and the Naganuma Town Yushishimai Preservation Society, as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet of fresh vegetables from Naganuma Town, free oden (Japanese hot pot) distribution, and many food stalls and food trucks. The traditional rice cake throwing event is also planned for the finale.
