■About the Citizens' Lobby Concert
The City Lobby Concert has been held since August 1980 as a casual concert that can be enjoyed during lunch breaks in the City Hall lobby. The performers are mainly mid-career musicians with ties to the city, and are selected by the City Lobby Concert Organizing Committee based on recommendations from its steering committee members (self-nominations are not accepted). To date, 486 concerts have been held, mainly classical music, with a total of 1,068 performers (groups) (as of the end of January 2023). This concert is loved by many city residents as it provides a place where they can experience excellent performances, and not only does it contribute to the promotion of music culture, it is also a valuable place of relaxation in the office district.
