Overview

The "canola flower fields" of Takikawa City, which boast one of the largest cultivation areas in Japan, color the Ebeotsu hills yellow. For a limited time from mid-May to late May, a beautiful yellow carpet spreads out. Because continuous cropping is not possible, you can enjoy a different scenery every year, and you can also enjoy various sceneries depending on the scattered fields.

On Saturdays and Sundays during the Canola Flower Festival period, a special venue will be set up in a canola flower field that you can enter, allowing you to see the canola flowers up close. At the main venue, Michi-no-Eki Takikawa, on Saturdays and Sundays, there will be a gourmet food area, and services such as the "Canola Flower Bus" that travels between the canola flower fields, and the "Canola Flower Taxi" with a driver's commentary that allows you to slowly tour the canola flower fields at their peak, will be in operation. Limited-edition canola flower sweets from confectionary shops in Takikawa City will also be on sale. On weekdays, a temporary tourist information center is also set up to handle "Canola Flower Taxi" and "rental cycle" reservations, and to provide information on the canola flower fields.
