At the Sapporo Chrysanthemum Festival, a large number of chrysanthemums grown with great care are exhibited at the main venue, Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walking Space (Chi-ka-ho), and the size and beauty of their flowers are competed. A full-scale judging panel will be held, and the best entries will be awarded the Minister's Prize of each ministry and the Governor's Prize of Hokkaido.

At Aurora Square in Sapporo's Aurora Town underground shopping mall, a comprehensive chrysanthemum flower bed "Aurora Flower Bed" made of variously tailored chrysanthemums such as dome chrysanthemums and spray chrysanthemums will be set up.

■ Objective
The purpose of this event is to enhance the attractiveness of chrysanthemums, which have been nurtured in Sapporo, by linking them with traditional culture, to promote tourism in Sapporo in autumn, and to promote art and culture among citizens.
