Overview

"Well-bari Festa 2024" will be held on Sunday, October 6 in the town of Esashi, located in northern Hokkaido facing the Sea of Okhotsk, to enjoy the bounty of autumn!
This popular event is a chance to enjoy the rich bounty of the Sea of Okhotsk, with a focus on the town's specialty products, autumn salmon and scallops, which are just coming into season.
The "Salmon Catching for Kids" event, which takes place in a giant pool specially set up for children, and the "Edasai Scallop Peeling Contest" for adults are always a big hit every year. Both events are free of charge, and entries are accepted on the day of the event. Entries are accepted on the day of the event and participants are chosen by lottery.

In addition, the Edasaki-cho Chamber of Commerce and Industry will offer free autumn salmon hot pot and salmon chanchan-yaki, prepared by the Edasaki-cho Chamber of Commerce and Industry (limited quantities only), free milk by JA Soya Minami (limited quantities only), and seafood and agricultural products will be on sale!

There will also be a powerful performance by the local YOSAKOI team "Yumeso Ren Esashi," a mini-stage event featuring Esasshi, a local character from Edasai Town, and a children-only scallop catcher (children to high school students, 200 yen per catch).
The event will conclude with a "Kohaku Mochimaki" (red and white rice cake throwing)!
