The museum will be open as usual on the day of the workshop, even if you do not participate in the workshop! (9:00-17:00)
There will be various workshops where both children and adults can have fun and get in touch with nature, and a quiz rally where you can visit the Higashi-Daisetsu Nature Center and the Railway Museum. The event will also include a quiz rally in which participants will answer quiz questions at the "Higashi Taisetsu Shizenkan" and the "Railway Museum".
The day will also include an explanation of Blakiston's fish owl and display of nest boxes (elementary school students and younger may actually be able to go inside the nest boxes!) ), and a hands-on experience and display of the portable toilet booth in the mountains. Please join us!

■Workshops: One person may participate in each workshop.
Let's catch invasive alien species with a snare (time required: 5 min.): Can you catch only invasive alien species?
Let's transfer butterfly scales (time required: 10 min.): Let's copy beautiful patterns on the butterfly's wings!
Making a sense of insects' spring (Duration: 20-30 minutes): Make a fan in the shape of an insect's spring!
Make a 3D topographic map (time required: 10 minutes): Overlap contour lines to create a 3D topography!
Finding glowing stones (10 min.): Let's find glowing stones using ultraviolet light!
Tokachi Stone Scooping (Duration: 2 minutes): Use the designated tools to scoop Tokachi stones.
Stone Painting (time required: as long as you like): Let's paint on the natural stones freely!
Making laminated leaves (time required: 5 minutes): Make laminated specimens using fallen autumn leaves!
Make your own eco-bag (10 min.): Make an eco-bag with a nice pattern using the Nature Center's original stamp!
Specimen distribution: Specimens of the "European bumblebee" will be handed out to visitors to help them learn about the Specified Invasive Alien Species.
Quiz Rally: The answers to the questions are located at both the East Daisetsuzetsu Nature Museum and the Railway Museum. Those who answer correctly will receive a commemorative gift!
How to participate: Please register and pay the participation fee at the window of the Higashi Taisetsu Shizenkan. You will receive a "workshop ticket" and a "quiz rally form.
