This is the representative event of Tomakomai, the city of skating. In the cold of midwinter, the specialty "Shibare-yaki" where Genghis Khan is grilled in a drum is exceptional! It is a festival that the whole family can enjoy, with stalls, stage events, a giant snow slide, and more.

<Skating Festival specialty "Shibare-yaki">
"Shibare-yaki" is Jingisukan grilled on a grill made from a drum can! It has been enjoyed since the first Skate Festival, and was originally meant to reward the Self-Defense Force members who built the snow sculptures and rink, but since the second festival, it has become one of the festival's events, so that local residents can enjoy it too. "Shibare-yaki" has become a specialty of the Skate Festival. As the name suggests, the meat is grilled and eaten in the cold, so the taste is exceptional when grilled under the cold sky! Please give it a try!
