Before the New Year, why not start the new year with a refreshing feeling together with the creatures? AOAO SAPPORO will be holding an end-of-year "Aquarium Cleaning" on Thursday, December 26th and Friday, December 27th.

At this event, you can get a close-up look at the precious work being done by our staff, something that you normally don't get to see.

■ "Soot-cleaning" the Sapporo sea cow skeleton specimen
Date and time: Thursday, December 26th, 14:00~ *Approx. 1 hour
Location: 5F "LIBRARY AQUARIUM"
・Content: A staff member will use a dry rag to wipe off soot from a skeletal specimen of a Sapporo sea cow, which is approximately 7 meters long.
■ Northern Rockhopper Penguin "Diving to Clean"
Date and time: Friday, December 27, 2024, 15:00~ *Approximately 2 hours
Location: 6F "PENGUINS"
・Content: Biological staff will don wetsuits and dive into the penguin pool where 22 northern rockhopper penguins live to clean the area.
