Overview

These flowers bloom for a month from early to late May, and not only do they bring out a vivid pink color, but their sweet fragrance fills the town. Together with the valley that runs along the foot of the hills, these moss phlox lure travelers into a dreamlike world. During this period, the Moss Phlox Festival is held, and various events are held.

The "Phlox Marche" will be held mainly on weekends during the Moss Phlox Festival, and will feature food and markets, workshop experiences, mini live shows, and local mascots.

Also, the "Moss Phlox SKY Cruise" held at Moss Phlox Takinoue Park is a special experience only available at this time of year, operated by Hokkaido Airlines. From the sky you can see the magnificent spring scenery of the "Moss Phlox" that dyes the entire mountain, the majestic "Kitami Mountains" with remaining snow, and the clear stream of the "Nagisakari River" that flows through the center of town.
