"Breathe With Me" ~Aikido and the Human Spirit~

[Film summary]
This is a documentary film about Amir Hinata, a martial artist from Spain who has pursued Aikido for 25 years, and his journey in search of harmony between nature and people.

Much of the film was shot in Hokkaido.
The story unfolds in the great outdoors of Hokkaido, including Sapporo, Furano, Biei, Shiretoko, and Wakkanai.

He also traveled to the Sanyo region, Kyushu, and Tanegashima, where he interviewed martial artists, nature lovers, and natural farming practitioners he met during his travels.

Using the footage we shot, we have created a documentary film that tells a story about how the spirituality at the heart of Aikido is deeply connected to our daily lives.

This film has turned out to be one that will leave a resonant message behind for those with and without an interest in martial arts.

This film is also based on the book of the same name, and if you would like to purchase the book when the film is released, you can do so at the same time as purchasing your ticket.

[Program] The program for each session is as follows:
1. Film screening (approx. 80 minutes)
2. Workshop (approx. 30 minutes)
3. Talk session and Q&A (approx. 30 minutes)

[Organizer Amir Hinata profile]
He was born in Spain and grew up mostly in Spain, but also lived in his father's native Iran.
After graduating from a university in Spain, he moved to Japan and became a naturalized citizen due to his connection with Aikido in his home country.
From an early age, I felt like I didn't belong to any country.
Fascinated by the grandeur of the universe, I spent many nights thinking about life, the origins of things, and death.
He is mainly involved in children's education, and is an educator and martial artist with a fourth-degree Aikido degree.
He trained in Iwama, Ibaraki Prefecture, the holy land of Aikido.
He has also studied martial arts such as Jeet Kune Do, Systema, and Daito-ryu both in Japan and abroad.
He established the Hyuga Dojo in Sapporo in 2020. In recent years, he has been holding seminars all over Japan.
