<Human Draft Horse Competition> Okito Town Sports Center Square
The "Human Banba Tournament" has now become synonymous with Oketo Town. It is a popular tournament in which around 50 teams from all over Hokkaido participate. Teams compete by pulling iron sleds loaded with logs along a course about 80 meters long.

The "Human Banba" festival, which was a huge success last year with more teams attending than capacity, represents the history of Oketo, which prospered through timber, and has been held for many years as a festival run by the united hearts of local residents. You can experience the traditional events of Oketo town firsthand.
