Overview

The central shopping district becomes a pedestrian zone, and every year there are events such as the "Ryuhyo Odori" dance, in which 1,000 dancers perform, and the "Musical Parade," in which elementary, middle, and high school students from the city participate. The highlight is the "Abashiri Fireworks," a fireworks display with 12,000 shots that takes place on the right bank of the Abashiri River. You can experience the power of the 2-shaku fireworks that can only be seen on the riverbank, and the sea and sky of Okhotsk are colored with beautiful large fireworks.
