Something brilliant,
Something vague and dull, something that you might forget.
The trajectory of creation continues from the past to the present,
We are all gathered here.
I capture every moment of my daily life in my paintings...
Message from the Exhibition
Suddenly, I saw a patch of grass. It reminded me of a scene from my childhood.
I have been putting every moment of those days into my paintings.
I grew up in the downtown area of Tokyo, and after getting married I moved to Hyogo, Saitama, Miyagi, Osaka, Hokkaido, and Chiba.
The people I met in each place, the changing seasons, and the moments that are etched in my heart.
He has also captured on canvas the vibrant colors of the snowy landscapes of Whistler, Canada, and the skyline of Avignon, France, that he encountered during his travels - his longing for a world just beyond the everyday.
Something vivid, something dull and hazy, something you might forget.
But now that I'm at my age, all of those things have become me.
The creative trajectory from the past to the present is gathered here.
I started painting oil paintings in 1985. It has been 18 years since my first solo exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo in 2006. Every time I moved, I got rid of many of my works.
However, I believe there must be some reason why the works remain in my possession. Please take a look at these works, along with the new expressions that he continues to create even now in his 80s.
