This panel will feature director Koji Fukada, acclaimed both at home and abroad at festivals such as the Cannes Film Festival and author of "Workstyle Reform in Japanese Film," and entertainment lawyer Takashi Shinomiya, who serves as CEO of CRG Inc., Star Sands Inc., and Arashi Inc., among others, and will discuss the future of Japanese film, focusing on the environment surrounding the domestic film industry, including creating an overseas-conscious market, the role of international film festivals, and workstyle reform in Japanese film. Furthermore, when illegal activity is found against actors or producers, measures such as the cancellation of a film's release are taken, reducing audience opportunities, but the discussion will also address the question of whether the film itself is to blame, and the disparity in cultural supply between local and urban areas, as well as the theme of "opportunities to watch films in theaters."
Furthermore, the aim is to exchange opinions on the current state of domestic film festivals and impressions of Japanese film festivals from the world's perspective, and to share the challenges and possibilities of FOOVIE with citizens who participated in the symposium, led by Ayumi Ito, Executive Committee Chairperson of Hokkaido FOOVIE Festival.
