The Otaru Snow Light Path is a winter tradition in the port town of Otaru, where the streets are decorated with countless snow candles. The main venue is the Otaru Canal and the former Japanese National Railways Temiya Line, which preserve Otaru's history as a gateway to the development of Hokkaido. The canal, with floating candles made from fishing equipment, is a great spot for photos. The Temiya Line venue, which features snow candles and a snow slide, has many foreign volunteers and is a popular tourist spot. With the desire to encourage people to enjoy Otaru's cuisine, tickets will also be on sale (planned) during the Snow Light Path period, allowing visitors to enjoy a meal at sushi, sweets, and noodle shops at a discount.
