Warm light envelops the town, centered around the Motomachi district, where churches and Japanese-Western eclectic style houses are dotted, allowing visitors to enjoy an exotic townscape. It is lit up daily during the period. This year's "Hakodate Illumination" will be held at a total of two locations. "Hachiman-zaka," which is known as a filming location for movies, commercials, etc., and is also a viewpoint, and the street trees of "Kaiko-dori," which is the road leading from the Bay Area to the Morning Market, located at the end of going down Nijukken-zaka.
