EVENT
IWAMIZAWA Heavy Snow Festival 2026
Date and Time
2026/2/7~8
February 7th (Sat) 10:00-17:00
February 8th (Sun) 10:00-15:30
Iwamizawa's biggest winter festival, based on the "snow" that is a defining feature of Iwamizawa, will be held again this year. Human Banba is a competition in which teams of six people, one jockey and five horsemen, race across the snow using a 350 kg sled. At the festival venue, you can experience the excitement reminiscent of the Iwamizawa Bankei Horse Racing.
Other attractions that are enjoyed by many visitors every year include a huge slide that is 6m high and has an 18m slope, snowmobiling experiences, and the free distribution of Iwamizawa's specialty hotpot, a hearty gourmet dish.
