The works of this exhibition are an attempt to project the state of silence layering up onto washi, which is a breathing material. Earth represents the memory of the earth, ink the depth of silence, and persimmon tannin the accumulation of time, creating unexpected bleeding and fluctuations in washi. The title "shinshin" is a word that combines the quietness when snow falls and accumulates, and the sensation of sinking into the depths of the heart. The abstract forms appearing on the surface are things imbued with a more primal presence, transcending emotion and thought. If you listen carefully, the subtle fluctuations that emerge, and the things breathing in the depths of silence, I would be happy if you could perceive them.
