Ryuichi Kobayashi Solo Exhibition "Shinshin"
Date and Time
2026/1/15~3/3
9:00 - 17:00
*Closed on Wednesdays
The works in this exhibition are an attempt to project the overlapping of silences onto the breathing material of washi paper. The clay represents the memory of the earth, the ink the depth of silence, and the persimmon tannins the accumulation of time, all of which create unexpected bleeding and fluctuations on the washi paper. The title "Shinshin" is a word that combines the stillness of falling snow with the sensation of sinking deep into the heart. The abstract shapes that emerge on the surface are imbued with a more primordial presence that transcends emotion and thought. We hope that you will be able to sense the subtle fluctuations that emerge when you listen carefully, and the breath that lurks deep within the silence.
